Everywhere you look, tables are set for two, multiple beds are in the minority and even marriage is for two only. But more is possible. In this intimate performance about relationships, Speels Collectief asks Cupid the ropes. From dinners-for-three, monogamy and self-marriage to polyamory for better or for worse: every colour of the rainbow is covered in a performance that looks behind the front door and between the sheets. We celebrate the multiplicity that coexists. Naughty and personal, swirling and sweating, we are guided by our curiosity about How Everyone Actually Does It.

SANNE ARBOUW
Sanne Arbouw (b. 1994) is co-founder of and artistic director and director at Speels Collectief. She directed, among others, the Company performance USUALLY I'M ON TOP. She is also a guest lecturer at several art academies, such as Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten and ArtEZ University of the Arts. Sanne has now made theatre in all kinds of places: in AZCs, community centres, homes for the elderly, care homes, at schools, in theatres and neighbourhoods. In 2021, she won the second prize for the Gelderland Cup of the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund.
ULRIKE DOSZMANN
Ulrike Doszmann (born 1970) came to the Netherlands to study at the Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg. After graduating in 1998, she started creating her own performances. Ulrike combines this with working as a dancer and performer for, among others, dance company Vloeistof. She has been teaching Movement Classes at Fontys for the past three years.
The performance stems from a great fascination with the wide range of contemporary relationship forms on the one hand, and the lack of representation of these in the heteronormative, clichéd image of love on the other. We ask ourselves how each of us shapes love and/or sexuality, are interested in a range of possibilities, and explore whether there is also a universal value in those countless individual experiences. It is precisely by starting from fluidity around love and relationships that we can liberate these concepts from fixed frameworks, in order to give ourselves and the public insight into what else love and relationships can encompass.
This is a Company performance. The Company is reconstituted for each performance. To do this, the artistic team looks for talented people with diverse perspectives that fit the theme of the performance. In cooperation with the team, this Company creates a high-level performance and goes on tour throughout the Netherlands.
People can also be selected for the Company company from Speels Collectief's Community. The Community is open to all and is a place to meet on the floor. With them, Speels Collectief plays performances on a regional level. This is always in collaboration with students from arts and social studies programmes.
