Cubicle: an enclosed, cramped space for a certain number. A small space. A space in which you store something. A gap, a crack, a boundary. A cubicle containing a human being. Where is the line between ‘being reduced to a cubicle’ and ‘feeling part of a group’?
SPIEGEL, a short interdisciplinary performance based on an investigation into social norms around masculinity and femininity. Dance, theatre, live music and visual work in one performance about identity.
Kirsten Robben. She graduated from the Theatre Teacher course at ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem.
This is a performance by New Makers at Speels Collectief. Within the New Makers programme, fourth-year art school students work with a diverse group of performers to create their own performance. This gives them the chance to develop their maker skills and specialise as inclusive theatre or dance makers.
We played this performance five times at the theatre route in Arnhem West; KUNSTMETMEKAAR in the Sionskerk in Arnhem. Then we played one more time at the HAN in Nijmegen for the students of the Social Work course. A workshop was given afterwards.
