‘You have to let the ball do the work’
The sudden appearance of five players in the small opening at the end of the lane, where normally the skittles are, causes the audience to ooh and ah. The coming to life of the bowling alley - the balls start rolling, disco lights and music turn on, and the players themselves seem to turn into a bowling alley - also causes amazement.
Five strange companions end up in the bowling club. Where did they end up? A titillating, absurd dance theatre performance.
Kato Mergan (born 1998) is a choreographer, dancer and teacher. She graduated from the FHK Academy of Dance Education in 2019. She then chose to further develop her artistic vision and situate herself within the context of the contemporary dance circuit while studying Choreography at the FHK Dance Academy in Tilburg.
DE KEGELCLUB was created for Theatre Route Near on 14 and 15 May. During a scenic walk across Landpark Assisië in Biezenmortel, visitors got to see four different performances, including DE KEGELCLUB on the park's bowling alley.
