ER WAS EENS EEN MEISJE DAT HAAR ZUS DROEG
My sister sometimes doesn't want to talk. She can be quiet and unreachable.
It feels then as if my sister is no longer my sister.
This performance is about two sisters. About carrying and falling. About living with a disability, and what that can do to one sister. About living with depression, and what that can do to the other sister. About the past. About now. About playing together. About having no energy to get up. About choosing each other, even when you used to sometimes say you wanted to get rid of your sister.
A theatrical investigation between two sisters. With self-written texts, movement elements. Two sisters at Speels Collectief; one from the Artist Educator in Theatre programme, the other from the Social Work programme.
Within Speels Collectief's talent development maker programme, young makers create an artistic work. Third- and fourth-year art school students work with a diverse group of performers on their own performance or theatrical research. This gives them the opportunity to develop their maker skills and grow into inclusive theatre or dance makers.
ER WAS EENS EEN MEISJE DAT HAAR ZUS DROEG will soon play festival OPENING UP organised by Speels Collectief at ArtEZ Arnhem on 21 April. Click Here for more information.
This performance is directed by emerging maker Jasmijn van Meurs. She is a third-year student of Artist Educator in Theatre at ArtEZ.
